FOIP

Fax Over Internet Protocol is the process of using the Internet to send and receive faxes. This can be done with a service provider, or through using an ATA with a printer. FOIP offers a solution since the older telephone networks are being dismantled by the infrastructure owners. This is something that hasn’t been thought of much – mostly because a number of companies has offered alternatives to faxing such as email. However, for some industries, faxing is still important, and if the POTS network is shutting down, FOIP is all they have.
