File Transfer Protocol is the capability, and ports to log into a remote server for the purpose of transferring files to/from your computer. FTP is usually associated with setting up a website for displaying the site. For example, I used my FTP client to connect to my host’s FTP Server where I was able to upload word press, and a config file to the site without have to try to do something where it might have bene one at a time. FTP is typically faster, and requires less of your attention.
