University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is one of the main hospital networks in the city with the only competition being Allegheny Health Network. UPMC works closely with the University of Pittsburgh to allow the hospitals be teaching hospitals. With that said, there are occasions that students will be in with the doctor, however the patient can request that they aren’t involved. UPMC also has insurance plans for those on Medicaid, and Social Security (Disability, and Retirement). They also offer employer plans for the employees of the business.
