Personal Digital Assistant is a handheld device that is similar to a smartphone without the phone capabilities. Apple used to sell the iPod touch which was a PDA even though it was touted as a music player. A PDA isn’t designed to replace the smartphone, but support it. A smartphone can do things like make phone calls, and do internet activities. The PDA will provide for contact management and localized games. Some PDAs could even have internet connectivity therefore making their device even more functional.
