Multimedia Over Cable Alliance is a standard where the coaxial line can be used to transmit data over the coaxial cable which is intended to add coaxial jacks in many rooms rather than limit the number of rooms where a coaxial can install. In the case of my use with MOCA, it will be used to create a secondary 1GBPS ethernet line. This will depend on the role where the coaxial line is located, but both ends will be RJ45, and the end in the Communications Room will plug into a switch. This will reduce the loss of what could be a ethernet line while waiting for the restrictions that would eventually be pushed on everyone by ATSC-3 standards.
